Greatwall Buffet in Jefferson City

Spare ribs are tough like beef jerky, teriyaki chicken is super salty and not at all what you expect of teriyaki chicken, they brought us the wrong wontons, eggrolls are thin and greasy, and somehow even the fortune cookies were bland. Will not be ordering from here again.

I wish I could tell you how the food was, but I walked in around 8 in the evening and walked out after waiting to be served for 10mins. I was at the counter waiting for someone to take my order or seat me, but no one ever came because they were too busy arguing in the kitchen about something. I stood exactly where they could see me, but they glanced at me then went back to arguing. Judging by the photos of the food I doubt the quality and taste wasnt great either, but I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt. Too bad they never gave me the chance. I will never consider this place again in my life.

Absolutely horrible, I wouldn’t give my dogs this food, we were not even greeted when we came in he just rudely blurred out 20.98 with food in his mouth , I have never been so embarrassed to eat somewhere. Everything is raw or cold and the rice is extremely hard. DO NOT EAT HERE!!

Lack of food choices and flavor won’t be back $40 4 people and very few choices!!

You pay when you enter the restaurant. Unfortunately, my husband and I were not clever enough to look over the buffet before he paid. There was hardly any food ,there and what was there was old and cold. You serve yourself, drinks and all. There was no carbonation in any of the fountain drinks which they did fix about halfway through our meal. No service, no food and no drinks. This was about 6:00.You would think they would be ready for a dinner crowd. There was no crown and no dinner.For 22.oo, I want more than that. We will not return.

It would be nice if they would put food out

The food was horrendous! The shrimp was cold on 2 different dishes. I spit out supposed chicken because it tasted so bad. My co-worker had plastic floating in his drink. We got up and walked out. They make you pay before getting your food and now I understand why. The decor is old and dirty. I don't know how they stay open. Gross!

Never seen this place before so decided to try it was in the mood for all you can eat buffet they from the minute I walked in I had a bad feeling because I paid like $9 for it right off bat before I seen what they had to offer so I paid and got a plate and they had ten trays 9 were empty and one had rice so I figured okay I’ll try the rice and maybe they will bring more food out so I tried the rice and spit it out had no taste and it was cold the environment was also very poor and nasty and they have there kids running around barefoot and yelling. I didn’t even bother asking to my money back they can use that $9 for charity. I advise anyone to not eat here and go down the plaza to el paraiso I’ll give them 5 stars service and food and environment all day very good people and workers with them but not the Great Wall oh and I have to give them 1 start can’t give them any less but I wouldn’t give them any

Came in not really expecting much because the review for this place are the worst. I was pleasantly surprised. The lady that took my money did so before we ate. I wasn't much of a fan of that, but she gave my daughter a quarter out of her tip jar so that she could get something out of their machine and that alone was 5 star service for me. My kid is everything to me and she showed her kindness that she didn't have to.I made our plates and we sat down to eat and the food was all fresh and all delicious. I was disappointed not to see orange chicken, but the quality of the rest of the food made up for it.This was a great hole in the wall buffet and satisfied by chinese food craving perfectly. I will definitely return.

I wasn't impressed with the food .I use to go here a lot .Haven't been back in a year but decided to eat here . NOT much food on buffet bar if they where food it was cold or dry. plus had kid's screaming most of our time eating here. NEEDLESS to say I will no longer visit this place.Plus when you only see one couple there that's a sign it's not great no more.So sad I don't like giving Awful reviews but this one needs it.Your better off going to The Golden Dragon .

Make sure you ask if the dish you choose is spicy hot. I didn't. It was good but hot. Good amount of food too.

This is our family’s favorite Chinese restaurant (& we're picky). I don’t know what the negative reviews are about, but we’ve gotten consistent good food from this place. Try it & judge for yourself; some people would give their own mother a bad review. Ha!

I don’t know how this place is still open! It’s absolutely filthy! The door handle, child’s booster seat, windows....everything is covered in a sticky mess! The woman took our takeaway order, bussed some tables for dirty dishes, then went and got our egg rolls out of the fryer and bagged them, without EVER washing her hands! I don’t see an inspection report anywhere in that place....would love 💕 to see one! Yuck!!! Eat at your own risk! 🤢

Always friendly, our order is always perfect! Even for the picky eaters,! Great price, great taste! We come from Knoxville faithfully. Tried many other locals but always disappointed by comparison

I would even tell u to walk in to eat. We walked in two booth was fill with cleaning supplies and odds and ends. When we order the buffet the drinks are included. I mostly order water to drink. So we paid for two drinks. While pays for tap water now days. The restaurant smelled like a shock barn at the fair grounds. The mold was growing up the wall. Where the sink to wash your hands was. There was 4 air freshener in a small bathroom. The hot bar was a hit and miss. Some food was hot others was just warm. The buffet never came close to the pictures posted for this place. Face it the place was dirty the curtain are not all hanging even in the windows. The floor need so help the tables need a good disinfectant and wipes off. Never plan on going back there.

A little disappointed. Came in today July 17th for my birthday with my fiancé and ill be honest, it was a mess in there. Tables were not clean, we had to pay upfront 20 dollars and some things were tolerable they brought out fresh food after we got our first plate and everything on our first plate was horid like it had been sitting for hours. After they brought oit fresh food we got a new plate and their chicken fingers were pretty good but the rest was practically tasteless. Waste of money in my opinion. Kids were running around screaming and staring at us. I got sick not long after.

Cold nasty food. Their kids were running around screaming getting into the icecream machines, food and fountain drink machines. Their cups still had dishsoap from the dishroom. We could taste it in our drinks. We told them what was wrong and they said "It happens, it's ok."For anyone who wants to eat like they're eating off the floor please come here. This is the same resturaunt that the Grouch from Seasame street would go to. This place is a complete joke!!!

I go here about once every couple months to get their shrimp and broccoli with fried rice and it's so good. They have a lot to choose from on the buffet to. Prices are very good and its casual dress.

This was the ABSOLUTE WORST food I have ever eaten. My family agrees. The food is so bad they make you pay before you eat. Please don’t waste your money and time.

Have eaten here many times, food is adequate and selection is good. Sometimes there are dishes piled up on tables too long and you have to look at it. They used to have a child in charge of the seating and taking orders, it was amusing that a small person was so adept at business and making us feel welcome. I would return here to eat.

The selection Great Wall wasn't great but the food was fresh the day we were there. I had been hesitant to visit there because I had heard people speak negatively of the place. But I thought the food was good when we were there last week. I would have liked to have seen some Wonton soup as part of the soup selection.

I use to come to this place when the other owners had runned it. It was so much better. Everything was more Clean an the food tasted way better. I haven't seen many people notice that their were new owners that took over a little over a year ago. I used to love the other owners yes they spoke English an they was always so sweet an kind to me. It is sad to see such a little family restaurant turn into such a nightmare. They need to be shut down if they do not start to improve. I wish they would get some help so they can have more Clean an better tasting food than soup that tastes like dirty dish water. None of the food has any flavor whatsoever.

Where to begin. We payed before we ate, which now I understand why! It SUCKED! The food was cold and not fresh it looks as if it has been sitting out all day long. It’s not a clean nor a safe environment to eat to say the least and to top it off the owner let her kid set at any table and make as much noise as he could and he was freaking barefoot! Please for the love of god save your money and for your health eat else where!

Food was flavorful, but nothing was labeled, so we had to make a guess as to what it was. Table looked cleaned, but chairs were sticky feeling. Looked to be a mom and pop place. It would be a lot better if they had help and the place was cleaner.

Very fresh food. They will cook you food and bring it to your table upon request. Nice employees. I love this buffet.

No stars are at 5:00 PM. Hardly any food at Buffet. Food was cold small sugar biscuits Hard as a rock. Not worth 10.00 not even worth a star. Horrible. Only giving one star so I can at least post.

The buffet depends on the day. Some days are 5 stars, some days are 2. If they are busy, it's fresh and hot. If they are slow, it's old and cold. However the carry out is always on point. Fresh, hot, and tasty.

The food taste was ok. However, it was old, dry, and they was low on everything. This wasn't an issue of bad timing, we was there at 6:15 PM on a Saturday night. I think we going out why it wasn't busy.

I hate it because their food was cold and thay would not keep There food in stock and there bathroom was bad there was water everywhere on the floor

I havent been here in 2 years had a hankering to eat here once again so stopped in. All the buffet looked old and dry, it was 85 degrees inside and 70 degrees outside and the food tasted awful I would not recommend coming here to eat. Just save your money and go somewhere else even the floors and hygiene was God awful.

If I could give no stars I would. This place used to be good when they first opened. For the first time in a long time I ate here again and that just confirmed that I won't be coming back. Food is always cold and old, and you always have to ask them to bring out more. It's also over priced.

Went here tonight for dinner buffet was all old dried up food, Even the soup was congealed. Most pans had maybe a spoonful if at all. Only thing fresh was the fried rice that was burnt. Couldn’t even get drinks had to help our selves behind the counter. Kids running around restaurant barefoot. After we ate I had to go to the hospital pretty sure it’s either food poisoning or hepatitis. Steer far away from this place

Haven’t been here in a few years. It wasn’t the best then, but it was ok. We stopped in last night, big mistake. There was not much food out, and it did not look appealing. We sat down and noticed a horrible vomit odor, mixed with a moldy odor. My husband pointed out the floor which was still damp. We immediately got our money back and went down to the Mexican restaurant in the same complex.
